Android Studio is an integrated development environment (IDE) for developing for the Android platform. It was announced on May 16, 2013 at the Google I/O conference. Android Studio is freely available under the Apache License 2.0.

Android Studio was in early access preview stage starting from version 0.1 in May 2013, then entered beta stage starting from version 0.8 which was released in June 2014. The first stable build was released in December 2014, starting from version 1.0.

FIX: Cannot localize the default folders

Cannot localize the default folders in microsoft office365 – outlook.

In outlook and Office 365 it’s possible to change the default folder names to anything you like. You could for example change the default language.

Sometimes you may receive following error message:

“The localization operation of the default folders of mailbox “yourserver.prod.outlook.com /Microsoft Exchange Hosted Organizations/baswijdenes/bas-wijdenes” failed:Cannot localize the default folders.”

Cannot localize the default folders
The localization operation of the default folders of mailbox “yourserver.prod.outlook.com /Microsoft Exchange Hosted Organizations/baswijdenes/bas-wijdenes” failed:Cannot localize the default folders.” Cannot localize the default folders.”

That message does not contain any explanation about possible reasons of that error. One of the reason that can cause such error is that folder with such name is already exists. Sometimes users exporting their old folders into Office 365 and these folders have same names as default folders.

How to fix this issue Cannot localize the default folders

Fix 1If you are an administrator, run the following cmdlet to reset the default folder names for the user:

set-MailboxRegionalConfiguration -id <alias> -LocalizeDefaultFolderName:$true -Language <Language_code_to_switch_to> -DateFormat <your_preferred_DateFormat>

Fix 2: If you are an end-user, use Outlook Web App to reset the default folder names:

  1. Log on to Outlook Web App by using your credential.
  2. Click Options, and then click See All Options.
  3. Click Settings, and then click Regional.
  4. On the Regional Settings page, change the language, select the date and time format that you want to use, and then select the Rename default folders so their names match the specified language option.
  5. Click Save, and then exit Outlook Web App.
  6. Restart Outlook.

Default folders which may cause that conflict are: Inbox, Sent Items, Drafts, Junk Email, RSS Subscriptions and Deleted Items.

Multiple users in a pst file

Lets first answer your question if multiple users can access a pst file

outlook web app

Is it possible to let more than one user work in a single .pst file?

Technically: No.

Is there a work around?

Yes, there is.

The work around

What you could do is create a new user for example named after the .pst file. Think of a nice e-mail address you’ll probably wont use. Give everyone access to the mailbox.

ExchangeRight click the user and click on ‘full access permissions’ > Add the users you want to have access to the mail in the .pst file > and apply.

Now re-start outlook, open the new mailbox you just made in exchange & open the .pst file.

Start copying all the mail in the new .pst file. After you’ve copied all the mail, the other users you’ve added to the new mailbox can now see the mail inside of the .pst file in the new mailbox, because this mailbox is shared everyone can work with the same emails.

What you’ve done is migrating the .pst file to an mailbox in Exchange. because of this every user you gave permission to this mailbox can see the e-mails.

What is a .pst file?

A Personal Folders file (.pst) is an Outlook data file that stores your messages and other items on your computer. This is the most common file in which information in Outlook is saved by home users or in small organizations. Home users usually use an Internet service provider (ISP) to connect to the Internet. The ISP also provides one or more email accounts. The most common types of accounts are referred to by their Internet protocol names — POP3 and IMAP. Another type of account is an HTTP or web-based account that works similar to IMAP email accounts. All three account types use a .pst file.

FIX: mute tabs in chrome

muting tabs in google chromegooglechrome

Why isn’t it possible to mute each tab in Chrome on default? Too be honest I don’t know, yet I know some advertising video, or a pop-up video can be very annoying and they always load 5-10 seconds in to the page which makes it hard to find them.

For awhile Chrome has a loudspeaker on each tab to see which tab is  playing a video or music (see the screenshot). volume icon-chrome

What most don’t know is that there is an option in Chrome to mute each tab you want by only clicking on the loudspeaker.

mute tabs in chrome

Go to Chrome://flags and find ‘enable tab audio muting control

Enable the option and click ‘relaunch now’ (this will re-start Chrome).

enable tab muting

Now when you have the loudspeaker at a tab you can actually click it and mute it. See the image: mute tab

the loudspeakers becomes a clickable option to mute/enable the sound.

If the mute tabs in chrome option doesn’t work for you reset your Chrome browser and try again.
