Adobe Reader has safe reading mode enabled by default. Safe reading is enabled so that URL connections and attached PDFs with JavaScript functions cannot execute malicious attacks.

However if you know the attachments and links aren’t malicious and from a trusted source you can disable this and use the PDF document full-scale.

Adobe Reader disable protected mode
  1. Open Adobe Reader / Acrobat
  2. press CRTL + K at the same time
  3. Follow the screenshot:disable safe reading Adobe Reader
  4. Checking that box will enable safe mode reading.
